April Fools for Christ

We just couldn't resist...

Pictured above are Sts. Peter and Paul [both of whom are no strangers to LOLSaints.com!], to of the bastions of the Apostolic Church. These two men did the most foolish thing of all, according to the world: They gave their lives for a man. But wait! This is foolishness if you live by the world's stipulations—but if you go further, you realize they not only didn't die for a man (they died for God), but, in fact, their death was but a passage to new life in Christ.

It is foolishness, according to the world, to not live for the moment, to not get carried away in frivolities. Why think about eternal life, about judgment, about the saints, when you can live for the now? Paul sets the record straight, though:

"For as I see it, God has exhibited us apostles as the last of all, like people sentenced to death, since we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels and human beings alike. We are fools on Christ's account, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are held in honor, but we in disrepute (1 Corinthians 4:9-10)."

Nice reflection on what it means to give your life to God along with how there are many different ways in which we may do so. Have a great April Fools Day!
