Thank You for Your Submissions!

We'd just like to send a general thank-you to all those who have sent in a saint picture, with or without a caption. The pictures have all been amazing, and we've only had one or two that were deemed not quite appropriate ;-)

Keep sending in those pictures, and make sure you check out the archives for any of the days you've missed on LOLSaints!

Valentine's Day

Be sure to check in on Valentine's day! We'll be posting something extra special—definitely sure to please those who are not of the 100% romantic nature ;-)

In other news, we've been having a little trouble with the site's RSS feed: everything works fine, but some people are having trouble viewing the images in the feed. We're working on this problem, and will have it working in no time!

Site Launch Updates

Well, here's the good news!

So far, since Tuesday (when LOLSaints.com officially launched), we've had over 21,000 page views (from over 6,700 unique visitors), and most people spend somewhere around 3 minutes browsing the site before leaving. About 165 people are following LOLSaints.com's RSS feed, which means they'll get their daily dish of LOLSaints without even having to type in the long www.lolsaints.com URL!

Regionally, the U.S. supplied the most visitors (duh!), but what was interesting was that Australia beat out Canada and the U.K. in unique visits by quite a long shot.

Also, an interesting stat I've learned is that FireFox is the browser of choice for LOLSaints.com users; about 46% of users were using FireFox for Windows or Mac, while only 38% of users had Internet Explorer.

We've completed our first contest without a hitch, and planning is well underway for the next contest—which will be in March!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow...

Be sure to check back in tomorrow morning, ca. 4:00 a.m. CDT, to see who won our inaugural "CAPSHUN CONTEST"!

Also, make sure you subscribe to this site's feed (see the big, pretty button over to the right? Click on that thing, and subscribe-away!), as we have some really good new saints coming up in the next few weeks.

Oh, and watch out for Valentine's day!

Hopes & Dreams

I'm hoping to receive a few good submissions in the next few days; right now my brain's about fried from working on this project (launching www.lolsaints.com), as well as about a hundred others!

Make sure to check out the Capshun Contest that's going on today only! It will be well worth your while—if you like listening to music, that is...

Finishing Things Up Around Here...

Well, we're less than a week away from the site's true launch, and I'm excited! I think I've prepared everything pretty well; I have four new saints ready to go, and I'm hoping to get maybe 5-10 more in the next week, so I don't have to do a ton of graphic work once the site goes live.

This blog (which is quite informal) is going to be mostly for site news, saint news, and small tidbits of information that I deem worthy of having on the site. The front page ("Home" link) is reserved almost exclusively for LOLSaints images, so this blog will be reserved almost exclusively for everything else.

So, what do you think? Do you like the site? What would you do different/better? Also, I'm considering adding the ability for people to add comments to their own pictures... kind of like icanhazcheeseburger.com. The problem is that this could cause trouble since I don't have the processing power on the web server I'm currently hosting this site on to do that if the site becomes poplular.

If I put up a "Donate" button, maybe some kind souls would donate enough (a few hundred a year) for me to be able to host the site on a much nicer server... opinions?
